We go on a planned route that the Alpaca’s are familiar with, but as with all animals sometimes the unexpected can occur, this sheet will help you understand and prepare for all eventualities.

All children under the age of 12 must share an Alpaca with a responsible adult, All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. SAFETY GUIDELINES (WE WILL TALK THIS THROUGH WITH YOU) PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDLINES.

Never stand behind the Alpaca, sometimes they do kick out, so always remember to stay by their shoulder. Please try and stay calm when you are with the Alpacas, please do not let your children shout and jump around them as this might frighten them.

Alpacas don’t really like their heads being touched, but they do like a nice stroke on their neck, but you must approach them in a calm manner. Alpacas do sometimes spit at each other but very rarely spit at humans.

Never put your hand through the loop of the rein or wrap the rein around your hand. If you are unsure about you Alpaca please ask for assistance from Henry .

If your Alpaca spooks at something they generally just do a small side skip and then carry on walking as normal, if you do not feel confident or it scares you, it is ok to drop the lead and Henry will assist you. There is no need to panic.

Please wear sensible footwear walking boots but wellingtons are ideal. The walks do take place over some rough terrain and can sometimes be muddy, footwear therefore can get muddy and we will not be held responsible for this.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your walk. If you are delayed please inform us ASAP

WE HAVE A STRICTLY NO DOG POLICY.

MOBILE PHONES – Please have your phones on silent when walking the Alpaca’s. This is so your Alpaca does not get distracted if it rings, you are most welcome to take as many photos as you like and Henry will be happy to take photos for you. Please feel free to share your pictures on our Facebook page Shilvington . We will also take photos that will be posted on our page, please let us know if you do not want your photo taken.

If the weather is unsuitable and we have to cancel the walk, we will call you and reschedule or reimburse you.
